چکیده
Background Cardiac involvement in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is one of the most frequent and severe extra-articular manifestations, but it often under-diagnosed. Objectives In this context, we conducted study, whose objective to determine prevalence types cardiac abnormalities patients with RA using transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) compare them control subjects. Methods We performed a comparative cross-sectional study Taher Sfar Hospital, Mahdia, Tunisia. Each patient underwent TTE coupled Strain technique. Results Seventy-two according ACR/EULAR 2010 criteria 72 subjects (control group) were included. our there was clear female predominance both groups sex ratio 0.07 group 0.05 (p=1). The mean age 52.9 ± 11.72 years [21-75 years] that 49.26 10.74 [19-76 (p=0,06). Abnormalities detected by more compared (80.6% vs 36.1%; p < 0.01) they asymptomatic 65.5% cases group. Pericardial effusion without significant difference. Valvular significantly (45.8% 1.4%; p<0.01) tricuspid (31.9%). Left ventricular diastolic dysfunction difference (36.1% 13.9%; p<0.01). Regarding left systolic dysfunction, ejection fraction impairment absent groups, subclinical myocardial damage assessed Global Longitudinal (GLS) method 37.5% 16.6% (p<0.01). GLS -17.8% 2.9 [-22 -10.7%], while -19.4% 1.9 [-24.7 -15.7%] hypertrophy on 22.2% 6.9% Pulmonary arterial hypertension present only (2.8% cases). Conclusion Our showed than general population, hence interest systematic screening, order improve quality life vital prognosis patients. Echocardiographic study of the cardiac involvement in rheumatoid arthritis.
Echocardiograms of high quality were obtained in 26 patients with classic or definite rheumatoid arthritis by the criteria of the American Rheumatism Association, but with no evidence of overt heart disease. The echocardiograms were analyzed for evidence of pericardial disease. The E-to-F slope was determined to assess the mitral valve, and multiple jadices of left ventricular performance were ...
